The big thing coming up are the follow-up scans set for July 1st to see if cancer is gone or not. The appt. w/ doc to discuss the results were a wk later. It was a surgeon friend who ordered the first scans and he called us on the way home to tell us the bad news -- but we didn't have to wait and worry. We don't like waiting / cruel. Today I got permission from doc to get results by phone following scans on July 1. That's a good thing.
Because Jr is still gagging, coughing, etc. the radiation doc is scheduling him tomorrow w/ oncology ENT and said some tissue may have to be removed surgically. More fun stuff to look forward to. BUT his throat skin is healing up soooo well. He'll never grow hair there, but that's alright. He still can't talk.
Thanks for all the emails and calls. I said I'd play catch-up on the blog so here it is - not much to tell. It's storming - got to go.

I love your take on things that most people would be bawling about. Jr is so brave and he is an inspiration to many of us baby-boomers out here who know we are going to be next in line for cancer. When we do get cancer we know who to contact as an inspiration, and the One Day at a Time advice sounds real and right. Ya'll must really know God to be able to have such a good attitude through all this. Thnks for the writing of it.

Well I lost the previous Blog, pushed the wrong button I guess! Hope all is good and doctor visit goes well. Wrapping up things in Lafayette and heading to Houston tonight & on to NY in am. Lucked out with this all happening on our 21st anniversary, Valerie says that's a long time for one man to be in pardise. Anyway, looks like ya'll had some rought weather. I guess it will take a while to get out of dog house with Mom, haven't made it up there in about a month. We are going to try to see if she will let Valerie go pick her up and come down for couple days. Not sure your brother and sister will let her come! HAHA
